Case story about VESAF,NFP Scholarship 2018-2019

During the last university year 2018 -2019, the VESAF scholarship program supported 32 underprivileged students who obtained an outstanding academic record. The financial support for each student is 300 USD for one university year. Thanks to the Scholarships, students were able to not worry about the financial fees and be able to focus on their studies. This made a massive difference on the students, they had more time and energy to learn and therefore to develop their academic records. See more

The Rotary International has approved a program on improving living quality of the poor/ or disabled people in Vinh Thai commune

About 25km southeast of Hue city, Vinh Thai is one of poorest communes of Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue province. The population of Vinh Thai is about 6,300 people, of which more than 200 are poor and/or live with a disability.

Currently, the poor and people with disability in Vinh Thai are facing a lot of difficulties because they don’t have appropriate jobs, and can’t generate income for their families; most of them do not have enough money or training to start a business. During the past, Vinh Thai had some relief policies for people with disabilities (supply rice, foods, building charity houses and so forth). However, they were not long-term, sustainable solutions that could help them and their families and indeed they didn’t create a stable income to help to improve the economic condition for poor or people with disabilities. We Are Bamboo Volunteer Program in August

Mr Le Dinh Hai (58 years old) household is the poorest family in the Huong Van Commune. He is a person with vision impairment for 35 years. His wife Ms Tran Thi Thanh Tam (61 years old) is a person with a disability who also got a hearts disease. They have one son (25 years old) who is being trained to be a chef. They only get to see their Son once a year, when he comes home for New Year.   The family is surviving thanks to the social allowance of 810,000 dvn per month. Mr Hai is now working in the Huong Van Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired with the main purpose to help the people have same situation. Despite all the difficulties in daily activities, they are still putting effort to raise some ducks and chickens to make ends meet for daily living. However, it’s hard for the family to raise more chickens and get more income since building a chicken coop was beyond their reach. See more

An English Summer Camp for children in Vinh Phu Community

A Summer Camp which under sponsored by Nessrine collaborated with Hearts for Hue was held at Vinh Phu Community house. The programe invited 18 children with a wide range of ages starting from 6 to 15 years old who are under Ngay Mai Scholarship.  All children were excited and attended on time with their mothers. And as an organizer, we were very happy with good spirits of participants.  The success of the program comes from meticulous plans of our international volunteers along with the well- known Hearts for Hue team. All made smiles on the faces of children, mothers and unforgettable moments for all of them. See more
