History:
Hearts for Hue began in 2006 when Mr. Truong Trong Khanh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa visited a resettled village in Phy Binh and Vy Da. During this visit, Mr. Khanh and Ms. Hoa saw the many difficulties families faced daily, such as no access to clean water and no sanitary waste water systems. They also noticed how many children were dropping out of school due to poverty. Inspired to help, Mr. Truong Trong Khanh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa founded Heart’s for Hue in 2007.
Their first project was an environmental protection and education program for the local people in the Phu Binh resettlement area, sponsored by The Dove Fund. H4H’s programs have grown since 2007, and Hearts for Hue now focuses on four areas: disability support, microfinance for women, community service projects, and environmental sanitation.
