Supported by The Dove Fund, on April 13, 2024, about 300 people underwent the first cancer screening process organized by Hearts for Hue alongside professionals from both the Oncology Center of Hue Central Hospital and the A Luoi District’s Health Center.
Patients at high risk of having contracted various cancers following exposure to the agent orange will now be consulted, supported, and advised on the next steps toward appropriate cancer treatment at the Hue Central Hospital.
With four more cancer screenings scheduled in the near future of the program “Empowering Health and Well-being for Orange Agent-Affected Individuals in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province.”, the ultimate goal is to target over 1,000 high-risk patients, giving them the opportunity to receive this vital treatment, care, and support.
With the sponsorship of the DOVE Fund, Hearts for Hue are working not only to enhance the overall health and wellbeing of Orange Agent-affected individuals but also to improve cancer screening and palliative care capacity for grassroots doctors and medical officers at Commune Health Centers (CHC) in A Luoi District.
