In 2024, with the sponsorship of DOVE Fund, Hearts for Hue delightedly carries out the project “Empowering Health and Well-being for Orange Agent-Affected Individuals in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province.”.
A Luoi is a mountainous district which had been through various battles during the war. Residents of the district suffered not only the terrible consequences of the war but also the severe long-term effects of Agent Orange. The district has over 1,400 people infected with AO, aged from newborn to 90 years old. And most of them have not undergone any comprehensive cancer examination due to their poverty, the lack of sufficient equipment at Health centers, and the knowledge and skills of the grassroots doctors.
Therefore, this is a practical and meaningful project that could help to not only enhance the overall health and wellbeing of Orange Agent-affected individuals but also improve cancer screening and palliative care capacity for grassroots doctors and medical officers at Commune Health Centers (CHC) in A Luoi district.
With the support of the DOVE Fund, Hearts for Hue hopes that the project will be carried out successfully and will improve the life quality of the locals in A Luoi district, Vietnam.
