Under the sponsorship of the DOVE Fund, the “Eye-care outreach program for primary and secondary school students in Nam Dong District, Thua Thien Hue Province” aims to improve eye screening capacity for grassroots doctors at Commune Health Centers (CHC) and school medical officers, screen and examine refraction issues for over 4000 schoolchildren in 14 primary and secondary schools, provide glasses for 300 schoolchildren with refraction issues in local schools, and provide medical treatment for children with eye diseases in Nam Dong District.

On January 18, 2024, Hearts for Hue collaborated with Huong Giang Primary School to organize the eye examination for about 200 students. In total, more than 300 children from six schools in Nam Dong district have received the visual acuity test to detect refractive errors.

Particularly, Hearts for Hue also returned to Long Quang Secondary School to distribute glasses to children with refractive errors who had their eyes examined last week. With the provision of appropriate free glasses, students will be able to concentrate better on their studies as well as be more convenient in their daily activities.
