WELCOME TO HEARTS FOR HUE’S APRIL 2021 NEWSLETTER

Dear Donors, Colleagues, and Friends,

First of all, Hearts For Hue would like to send our warmest greetings and best wishes to all of you and express our sincere thanks for your support of disadvantaged people in Vietnam. We would like to share with you an overview of what our organization was doing from January to March  2021.  Please take a look at our project highlights below:

 

New kitchen sponsored by The DOVE Fund

Over the past ten years, DOVE Fund has partnered with Hearts for Hue to support disadvantaged people in Huong xuan, located about 15 from Hue. It is home to about 12,600 people and is one of the poorest wards of Huong Tra town of Thua Thien Hue Province. In 2011 DOVE Fund, supported the construction of the Tay xuan daycare centre. Two classrooms, a kitchen and school toilets were built for 80 children aged from 3-5 years old in Huong Xuan. See more

 

 

 

Enhancing awareness on WASH and Prevent Covid 19 for children in Quang Nham sponsored by The PiCCA

As part of our “PROMOTING HYGIENE AND SANITATION IN QUANG NHAM COMMUNE”, Hearts for Hue, funded by The PiCCA (AUS) and in collaboration with Hong Quang Primary School, are working together to raise awareness on water supply, sanitation and hygiene issues to prevent the Covid19 for children in Quang Nham.

On 3rd March, the first training session on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for children was organized for over 50 children and two local teachers in Hong Quang Primary School, A Luoi District. Mrs Dao Nguyen Dieu Trang, Doctor/Lecturer from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, played as a facilitator of this training. The training content consisted of four main topics as below: See more 

 

 

Improvement of the handwashing stations and personal hygiene practices for the pupils at primary schools in Quang dien district, Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam

Hearts for Hue is very delighted to inform that the DOVE Fund funded a project for handwashing stations and hygiene training for 3,400 pupils at 12 primary schools in Quang dien district, Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam. After building all pupils will be able to access clean water and soap to wash their hands and remove infectious diseases like diarrhea, cholera, pneumonia and COVID 19.

To provide a safe schooling environment for children through the Covid-19 pandemic period, Hearts For Hue will implement the project with the aim to

– Increase awareness of personal hygiene and Covid19 respond and prevention for pupils and teachers in the schooling environment

– Improve the hygiene facilities for primary schools through handwashing station construction

The project is expected to commence in April 2021 and completed by 2022. See more 

Goat raising program sponsored by Veterans For Peace

Under the sponsorship of Veterans For Peace (USA), Hearts for Hue in association with Agricultural Service Center and A Ngo’s People Committee has formulated a Goat Raising Program to provide additional assistance people affected by Agent Orange in A Ngo Commune, A Luoi District. The project has supported 10 families who have family members affected by Agent Orange. Mrs Loan’s family is one of the beneficiaries of the project. See more
