Casestory of Ms. Dang Thi Sen

Hearts for Hue is delighted to share the inspiring story of Ms. Dang Thi Sen, a remarkable woman who embodies strength and resilience despite the challenges she faces. Born in 1955, she resides in one of the poorest households in Huong Van commune, where poverty casts a shadow over many lives. At the age of 68, Ms. Sen finds herself shouldering the responsibility of raising her three grandchildren, all by herself. Despite the challenges she encounters, Ms. Sen never loses hope. During Hearts for Hue’s survey visit in February 2023, Ms. Sen expressed her determination, saying, “I work hard now to ensure that my grandchildren can go to school.

Touched by Ms. Sen’s unwavering determination to secure a brighter future for her grandchildren, Hearts for Hue intervened to provide support. In March 2023, we successfully obtained three scholarships for the grandchildren, ensuring their continued education despite the financial limitations they face.

But our assistance didn’t stop there. Realizing that sustainable income generation was vital for Ms. Sen and her family, in May 2023, Hearts for Hue collaborated with a compassionate group of ACSI students and teachers. Together, we constructed a chicken coop for Ms. Sen, offering her the means to raise chickens and generate a steady income. This initiative empowers her to become self-sufficient, providing for her family’s needs and fostering economic independence.

Additionally, understanding the difficult living conditions in Ms. Sen’s home, Hearts for Hue took further action. Recently, we built a clean and sanitary bathroom, fulfilling a vital necessity and enhancing the overall living standards for Ms. Sen and her family. The joy and gratitude on Ms. Sen’s face touched our hearts deeply!

Every success story like that of Ms. Dang Thi Sen reminds us of the power of small acts of kindness and the transformation they can bring to the lives of others. Thank you to all the sponsors who have joined hands with Hearts for Hue. Together, let us continue to work towards building a caring and inclusive society, one step at a time!

Best regards,
H4H team.
