From 15th to 18 January, 2016 Hearts for Hue in collaboration with The Bamboo Project successfully organized volunteering project in Quang Vinh Commune, Quang Dien District, Thua Thien Hue Province, Vietnam.
During 4 days period, 14 international volunteers including 2 staffs and local volunteers from Hearts For Hue supported local worker in the building garden and planting vegetable for children in the kindergarten. This activity not only provide fresh vegetable for children at school but also the good way for children to learn how to grow vegetable. In addition, the volunteers held English classes including interesting lessons, English games. Also, by involved in daily lives of local people such as visiting handicraft workshop, chicken farms and having meals with them, they could obtain a better understanding of life in rural areas in particular and Vietnamese culture in general. This program gave local and international volunteers the opportunity to participate in rural community development and education project. Although the time was short, the international volunteers have left a good impression on the children, teachers and local people in this place.
