Australian volunteers for international Development Program, is a Government initiative. The program offers a range of opportunities for the Australian community to share skills and foster linkages with people and organizations in developing countries: to make a difference as part of Australia’s overseas aid program.
In Vietnam, Hearts for Hue a local Non-profit organization were honored to be in partnership with AVI to implement this program. In May 2019, Hearts For Hue were pleased to welcome Mr Alistair Cameron an Australian volunteer from AVI to work at Hearts For Hue office. Over the past 10 months, Mr. Alistair worked with Hearts For Hue staff to share knowledge, build the capacity of individuals, and exchange develop sustainable skills with the aim of providing long term, sustainable development outcomes. Particularly, Mr. Alistair assisted in systematize Microfinance Project in four communities Vy Da, Huong Van, Vinh Phu, and Quang Phuoc.
Due to the fact that the Covid 19 outbreak, Mr. Alistair is required to return Australia until the situation has settled down. Hearts For Hue wholeheartedly appreciate everything Mr Alistair has done for our organization. Last but not least, Hearts For Hue would like to express our deepest gratitude to AVI for organizing such a significant program.
