The Thua Thien Hue Social Center, established in 1986, is essential in supporting individuals with mental health challenges. The center cares for over 584 patients, aged 18 to 70, with the main goal of improving their quality of life through medical treatment and therapeutic activities.
A dedicated team of doctors and employees select their activities and medications to participate in structured daily routines designed to enhance their well-being. Creative activities, such as sewing, chicken raising, mushroom cultivation, and other craftwork, play a key role in their recovery. These activities not only serve as therapy but also provide employment opportunities, giving patients a renewed sense of purpose and accomplishment. The regulated workflow of the center helps simplify their reintegration into everyday life.
One of the center’s most heartwarming initiatives is the production of hand-embroidered flower bouquets. These creative products, made by the patients themselves, are sold through Hearts for Hue, with all proceeds donated directly back to the Social Center. The sales of these beautiful flower bouquets are more than just a fundraiser—they represent a way for the community to support mental health rehabilitation in a meaningful and personal way.
