The coronavirus (Covid 19) pandemic has affected every aspect of our daily lives. According to Vietnam News, there are a total of 1,899,575 confirmed cases updated on January 10, 2021, so that a range of solutions are given out to control the outbreak. Handwashing is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of infectious. Therefore, Hearts for Hue has been implementing the project “IMPROVEMENT OF THE HANDWASHING STATIONS AND PERSONAL HYGIENE PRACTICES FOR SCHOOLS IN PHU VANG DISTRICT” which is sponsored by The PiCCA and The Phillips Foundation (AUS).
Within the framework of the project, on 7th January 2022, Hearts for Hue in collaboration with Phu Vang Department of Education and Training organized a training session for teachers of 10 primary schools in Phu Vang District. The main topic of training is “Personal hygienic practices for students and how to prevent the spread of infectious disease, especially Covid 19”. The training is under the guidance of Dr. Dao Nguyen Dieu Trang from Hue University of Medical and Pharmacy. Those who participated in the training included the representative of Phu Vang Department of Education and Training, Hearts for Hue, and teachers from 10 primary schools.
The training started with a discussion among the local teachers about the challenges that students have been facing in school, particularly in the Covid 19 outbreak recently.
In the training, Dr. Dao Nguyen Dieu Trang delivered a range of practical solutions to mitigate the challenges which are as followed:
– How to prevent the spread of infectious disease, especially Covid 19 ( symptom recognition and how to prevent)
– How to take care of yourself and Covid Patients at home
– Follow handwashing steps using the WHO technique
– The rules and guidance for facemasks (how to put on and remove facemask)
As planned, those teachers will deliver the same training to 1000 students in their primary schools in the near future.
At the moment, the construction of 10 handwashing stations was accomplished and can be put into operation. Hearts for Hue would like to thank PiCCA and the Phillips Foundation for your tremendous contribution to the local schools in Hue, Vietnam.
