PROJECT MODEL: THE GOAT RAISING PROJECT FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY AGENT ORANGE IN QUANG NHAM, VIETNAM

Project Goal: Improvement of the living quality for the AO families in Quang Nham communes, A luoi district, Vietnam by the goat raising program.
Project Objectives:
- Increase goat-raising knowledge for AO people in the communes.
- Improve the goat shelter system and goat herd quality for AO people in the commune.
Activities:
- Training courses on goat selection, goat foods, raising techniques, veterinary issues, and goat shelter construction.
- Training courses on establishing Goat Raising Club for all participants, as well as for the local management board and the members of the community.
- Training course for members of the Club and local management board on marketing goat products.
- Quarterly meeting of the Club on sharing experiences on goat raising, marketing, and other matters between the beneficiaries.
- Support the goat shelter construction for 60 AO families.
- Provide 35 female goats to 35 first-AO families with vaccination and veterinary medicine, and continue providing baby goats from the first 35 households to other participants in the project.
