From December 8 to 17, 2023, in collaboration with Hearts for Hue, 27 students from Singapore Management University (SMU) came to Huong Van 1 Primary School to carry out Project Cloud Nine 7.0.
With this ten-day project, together with H4H’s volunteers, they helped the school paint the doors and windows of two main buildings. Particularly, SMU students also painted a stairway mural, which helped brighten the whole building. Their work not only improved the school’s facilities but also enhanced the learning environment for students there.
Additionally, members of the project also brought interesting and meaningful lessons to students every day. The lessons for students from grades 1 to 5 were based on familiar topics such as environment, water circle, personal hygiene, etc.
Besides academic hours inside classrooms, they also organized outdoor lessons with active activities for students to play and learn.
Beyond the classes, the SMU team also created memories with students by talking, taking photos, and playing football. In just a few days, they had developed strong bonds with primary school children there.
Within the framework of the project, the members of SMU also had a Cultural Exchange Program with students from the International School, Hue University. The students had a great time introducing their school as well as Singaporean culture to Vietnamese students, and vice versa.
On behalf of all teachers and students from Huong Van 1 Primary School, Hearts for Hue would like to express our deep gratitude for the support, effort, time, and love of 27 dedicated students from Singapore Management University (SMU) in our community.
