Hearts for Hue is very pleased to announce a new partnership with Semester at Sea (USA).
Every semester, one lucky group of US college students board the floating classroom of Semester at Sea to broaden their horizons. The academic content is underwritten by Colorado State University, and students combine classroom activities aboard MV World Odyssey with real world experience in cities across the globe. In November 2020 MV World Odyssey will dock in Ho Chi Minh City, and a group of 30 students will visit Hearts for Hue.
During their days with us, the students will be given a crash course in microfinance management by Hearts for Hue’s microfinance experts. They will learn about the empowering impact financial inclusion can have for marginalised women. They will learn the difficulties families can have in finding financial capital to kick start businesses which may never be registered. Finally, the will learn about running small businesses in rural contexts, directly from some of the 30 families for whose loans they are generously providing funding.
Hearts for Hue is excited about the opportunities provided for all parties in our new partnership with Semester at Sea and hope that the relationship will be long and fruitful. We look forward to meeting you all in November.
