Within the framework of “Empowering Health and Well-being for Orange Agent-Affected Individuals in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province.” sponsored by DOVE Fund, on May 18, 2024, the second cancer screening session was carried out for 300 people at Quang Nham commune.
In addition, among citizens attended the first screening session organized last month, Mr. Ho Van Me was diagnosed with hypertension and pleural effusion (lung cancer [R]). He belongs to an ethnic group and used to be a Vietnam veteran. Mr. Me has 5 children: 1 passed away, 2 infected with Agent Orange. His wife and he are old, and both have bad health conditions. Currently, he is receiving the intensive medical examination and prober treatment at Hue Central Hospital.
In the future, three more sessions will be conducted to screen cancer for 1500 AO people in A Luoi in total.
