On March 21st, Hearts For Hue collaborated with the Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD) and local authorities to organize a training session on clean water and the usage of ColiQuant products for the households of A Rom village in Hong Ha commune, A Luoi. The purpose of this session was to educate local residents on the importance of clean water and how to use ColiQuant products to detect E. coli bacteria, the main cause of diarrhea and other diseases found in daily water use. This training session is part of the Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam project, a collaborative initiative between MSD Institute – United Way Vietnam, and the Shinhan Future Solution program – Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam.
The training session was conducted by Mr. Truong Trong Khanh, the Chairman of Hearts For Hue, who provided valuable information on the proper measures to prevent E. coli bacteria and how to use water safely and hygienically for good health. More than 20 households from A Rom village participated in the session and were equipped with knowledge on how to measure bacteria in their water using ColiQuant products. This training was also received positively by the residents of A Rom village, who expressed their gratitude towards Hearts For Hue, MSD Institute – United Way Vietnam, and the financial support from the Shinhan Future Solution program – Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam. The initiative is an important step towards promoting clean water access and improving public health in rural areas.
In A Rom village, local people often use water from nearby streams for their daily activities such as cooking, washing, and other household chores. However, they lack clarity on the potential contamination of the water source, and it is only with ColiQuant products that the quality of the water source can be verified. The session was effective in not only educating the residents of A Rom village on the importance of clean water but also in raising awareness about the negative health impacts associated with the presence of E. coli bacteria in daily water use. This initial step of providing ColiQuant products to the people of A Rom village is aimed at enhancing their understanding of the quality of water they use in their daily lives. More than that, our ultimate goal is to seek assistance to address the pollution of the water source and improve its quality, thereby enhancing the quality of life and ensuring the health and well-being of the people here.
Overall, this training session serves as a testament to the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting sustainable development and demonstrates the positive impact of community-driven initiatives in achieving long-term change. On behalf of the people of Hong Ha commune, A Luoi, we extend our sincere gratitude to MSD Institute – United Way Vietnam, and the financial support from the Shinhan Future Solution program – Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam.
Sincerely,
Hearts For Hue team.
