Covid-19 information and misinformation are abundant all over the world. Far more abundant than the equipment needed to protect oneself from catching the virus. This is particularly so in some of the communities in Hue where Hearts for Hue works.
Hearts for Hue is therefore going to provide these communities with soap and masks. Some of the members of our microfinance programme are tailors, and we have begun working with these tailors to make face masks. According to the WHO, surgical face masks should only be used once and then disposed of. Our tailors will make face masks that can be washed and reused.
However, face masks work best when they are used in tandem with regular hand washing. Hearts for Hue will therefore be contacting the Hue University, which produces its own soap, and arranging for the soap to be delivered to our programme partners.
Finally, Hearts for Hue will produce and translate a 1 page infographic based on the World Health Organisation’s guidelines. The infographic will include information on when and how to wear a face mask, and when and how to wash hands. This will be provided with every face mask and hand washing kit.
To do this, we need your help. Donate today, and tell us that you want to support our mask and hand hygiene programme.
