On October 1, 2024, the “Books for a Cause” program, sponsored by Rotary Saigon International, brought hope and education to four rural primary schools in Vietnam: Vinh Thai, Quang Phu, Huong Van, and Quang An. Each of the four schools received 180 books. The main focus was to provide a variety of books for the reading time and to expand their library. Representative of Rotary Saigon international is Mr. John Bayarong, who visited the schools with Hearts for Hue.
Also the book donation, aligned with the nationwide Lifelong Learning Week, highlights the importance of providing continuous access to educational resources, especially in regions where children often face limited opportunities to explore the world of books.
Mr. Bayarong, a passionate advocate for education, emphasized the role of reading in shaping young minds. “When you’re reading these books you can imagine that you are in Saigon or Paris. You can create your own world” he said.
The collaboration between Rotary Saigon International and the participating schools during Lifelong Learning Week underscores the significance of education in personal and societal growth. The program’s success serves as a reminder that small actions, like donating books, can have a lasting impact on the lives of young learners and the communities they belong to.
Hearts for Hue want to sincerely thank the Rotary Saigon International for the partnership and the book donation to the schools. We are looking forward to continuing this collaboration for future projects to support the children in their education as well as our community.
