In December 2022, Hearts for Hue cooperated with Singapore Management University to implement Project Cloud Nine 6.0 for 250 students at Huong Chu 2 Primary School – a rural school in Hue. The virtual teaching program took place in two weeks with the efforts of 20 international volunteers and 9 Vietnamese volunteers led by Tara Toh Ying-Ying and Clarabelle Chan.
The project’s goal is to play a part in improving and expanding English language education and thereby plant the seeds of linguistic and cultural understanding that will set these students on a path to success in the future. The international volunteers offered many lectures from the lower to the upper are arranged following ten classes from grade 2 to grade 5 in 20 sessions that can help them experience many necessary lessons and engaging activities. For example, in addition to learning about science and biology knowledge, children also learned about gratitude and possible thinking. At the same time, the team has been creative to promote essential learning interactions through fun games, songs, or quizzes, especially tree planting and Christmas decorations.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to learn English with a Singaporean teachers. My favorite lesson is What are emotions, as it was the first lesson I learned. Thank you very much!” student Nhu Y, class 5/2 said.
It is amazing how this project will motivate and inspire these students to do better! Hearts for Hue would like to thank all the international and Vietnamese volunteers for their enormous effort in the project. We are looking forward to seeing more projects in the future.
