Every year, there are still a large number of students who have to drop out of school due to difficult living circumstances. Small wishes such as a new uniform, books and full school supplies are not always available. Particularly in the Covid 19 pandemic, the financial issue is harder to address and deal with.
Education is the key to a brighter future. Hearts for Hue strongly believe that education along with support and motivation are the ways to transform a life from poverty to prosperity. That is why supporting the education of children from disadvantaged families it is a priority for us.
Therefore, Hearts for Hue has been implementing a scholarship program under the sponsorship of several donors.
VESAF, NFP Scholarship
Since 2018, a total of 181 studious students were awarded scholarships in Hue, Vietnam. Scholarships were awarded in cash to suit the needs of the students (as school supplies, or essential items). The criteria for selecting scholarship recipients are underprivileged have the will to get a better life, study, and practice. They also have not received any support from the other study programs. The program has really been successful and benefits people’s lives, especially parents and students of communes in the outskirt areas.
The support of VESAF, NFP shows their kind-hearted, humanity, and practical interest that helped them overcome difficulties. During 3 years, the scholarships were distributed as follow:
-In primary schools: 50 students
-In secondary schools: 40 students
-In high school: 30 students
-In University: 36 students
Ngay Mai Scholarship
Ngày mai Scholarships is an initiative built on funds collected from individual donors in Spain and from individual international volunteers visiting Vietnam. Nevertheless, donors from anywhere in the world are welcome. During the school year 2018 / 2019 we are giving support to almost 3 children from disadvantaged families, not only from Hue City, but also from other communes as Vinh Phu, Vinh Thai, Huong Van and some other areas.
