As part of our “PROMOTING HYGIENE AND SANITATION IN QUANG NHAM COMMUNE”, Hearts for Hue, funded by The PiCCA (AUS) and in collaboration with Hong Quang Primary School, are working together to raise awareness on water supply, sanitation and hygiene issues to prevent the Covid19 for children in Quang Nham.
On 3rd March, the first training session on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for children was organized for over 50 children and two local teachers in Hong Quang Primary School, A Luoi District. Mrs Dao Nguyen Dieu Trang, Doctor/Lecturer from Hue University of Medicine and Farmacy, played as a facilitator of this training. The training content consisted of four main topics as below:
– How to protect and maintain the latrine system
– Create a personal hygiene routine (toilet hygiene, shower hygiene, nail hygiene, teeth hygiene, sickness hygiene and hand hygiene)
– Hand washing: 6 steps to kill the germs on your hand
– How to wear a face-mask properly to prevent Covid 19
In the training, Mrs. Trang emphasized the importance of keeping their hands clean to avoid getting sick and kill the germ. “Learning with practice”, Mrs. Trang did apply the participatory method for this training by providing so many groups and individual work for children. Additionally, children learn more about why hygiene is so important, the best way to practice and how you can change your habits to make yourself feel and look better. All children are eager to learn new and beneficial knowledge. Obviously, the training has enhanced children’s awareness about water, sanitation and hygiene.
Hearts for Hue would like to express our deep gratitude to the PiCCA for your funding to the project “PROMOTING HYGIENE AND SANITATION IN QUANG NHAM COMMUNE”
