Recently, Hearts for Hue, in collaboration with local partners, implemented a livelihood improvement program for families with disabilities through a chicken-raising model funded by VIETBAY and VIETBAY TEENS. Launched in May 2025, the program included the construction of 24 chicken coops and the provision of 1,200 chickens, along with feed, equipment, and veterinary medicine for 24 households.
To assess the program’s effectiveness and provide technical support, Hearts for Hue conducted household visits from September 10–11, 2025. The survey results were highly encouraging: most households reported successful chicken raising, with a high survival rate of 85%–95%. The chickens are healthy and growing well, while the coops are being kept clean and well maintained.
During the visits, the team also advised families on waste management practices to help reduce environmental pollution and safeguard community health, as well as discussed plans for restocking. Many households expressed strong commitment to expanding their chicken-raising activities in order to secure a more stable income.
These initial outcomes demonstrate that the chicken-raising model is delivering positive impacts—improving living standards, enhancing farming skills, and fostering sustainable development for families with disabilities.
On behalf of the families, Hearts for Hue extends sincere thanks to Viet Bay Teens and our local partners for their continued support of this meaningful program.
