On 10th and 16th March 2022, Hearts for Hue in collaboration with Hue University and Danang University implemented a Scholarship distribution for 76 disadvantaged students. These students, all of whom are from families experiencing severe financial and/or medical hardship, were awarded the scholarship for their strong academic performance. Each student has received 400 USD/per year. More importantly, students will be considered to continue to receive the scholarships for next year based on their academic achievement. The total amount of VESAF Scholarship for University students is 30.400 USD in the academic year 2021 – 2022.
This is the fourth time the VESAF has sponsored scholarships for underprivileged students who demonstrate their strong academic results. Mrs. Do Thu Xuan Dung – Deputy Director of Hue University shared: “The scholarship has assisted our students to cover their daily basis as well as overcome their life challenges. More importantly, this is also a great spiritual encouragement for all the students. After graduation, hopefully, all of the students will be good citizens in society. On behalf of Hue University, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the VESAF and Hearts For Hue”
Associate Professor Ph.D. Ngo Van Duong – Deputy Director of Danang University shared: “The scholarship has maximized the opportunities for our students to comprehensively develop themselves. As a result, they will have a better chance to succeed in life as well as to create values to the society which contribute to the development of the country”
Mr. Truong Trong Khanh – Representative of VESAF, NFP in Vietnam expressed: “I hope that the VESAF will motivate the underprivileged students to overcome their difficulties plight and accomplish themselves and get closer to your dream”
The VESAF, NFP is a non-profit organization with the main mission of providing educational and social assistance to impoverished communities in Vietnam. The organization was established in the State of Illinois on 24th October 2014 and was issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam with the working permit No. 416 / CNV-HD dated on 8th February 2018. The VESAF, NFP has been doing charity activities in Vietnam since 2015 with a budget sponsored by the family of Mr Nghi Q. Lam, Ph.D. and his fellow friends. From 2018 to 20201, with a total budget of nearly 400,000 USD, VESAF,NFP has implemented a range of programs such as i) MicroFinance Program for disadvantaged women in Thua Thien Hue Province ii) Construction of rural bridges, roads, homes with love, wells for the underprivileged communities in the Mekong Delta iii) Scholarships for disadvantaged students in Thua Thien Hue Province and Da nang iv) Solar light program for communities in the Mekong Delta and v) Support education fee and meal for more than 150 orphans in Quang Chau Pagoda, Da Nang City.
