From March 9 to 12, 2024, 31 members of the DOVE Fund, including the Vice Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Khac Do, and Mr. Fred Grimm, had a memorable trip in Hue, Vietnam. In the past few years, with the great sponsorship of the DOVE Fund, Hearts for Hue has carried out various projects to support the poor as well as the needy and improve their quality of life.

On this year’s trip, the DOVE Fund had a four-day visit to different project sites in Thua Thien Hue province. Additionally, the members also distributed some gifts to students and families.

The DOVE Fund presented not only 10 new computers to Phu An Primary School but also toothpaste and toothbrushes to the students there.

Later, they spent time playing with the children and gave them toothpaste and toothbrushes as gifts.

In the afternoon, the members traveled about 20km to Huong Tra town, where the project of Handwashing Station and Personal Hygiene was based. They came to Tu Ha 1 Primary School to learn about the project summary and watch the children practicing handwashing skills. Before leaving, the members gave the students toothpaste and toothbrushes and took many photos with them.

In the morning, the DOVE Fund came to visit the Social Center, where they sponsored the project “Vocational training and job creation for people with mental illness in the Social Center in Hue.”. They had a short, warm meeting with Ms. Ha Thi Hong Phuong, the vice director, to get the basic information as well as the development of the center in the past year. After that, they went to different sites to learn about the activities and daily lives of the people there.

Finally, the group traveled to Quang Phu commune and visited 4 participants in the Microfinance Program, which has been sponsored by the DOVE Fund since 2011. The members came to see how the loans have supported the businesses of those participants.

Generally, the DOVE Fund trip in 2024 was a great opportunity for all members to learn about the program in Vietnam and see how their support has helped the community.

Once again, on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hearts for Hue would like to express our deep gratitude to the DOVE Fund for their wonderful sponsorship.
