Good going, chicken club!

GROUP 3 RECEIVED BABY CHICKENS

Under the sponsorship of The Rotary, Hearts For Hue delivered 5000 baby chicks for 50 beneficiaries under the framework of improving the economic condition for poor/disabled people near Hue, Vietnam.

For those who participated in the baby chick distribution including Mr Truong Trong Khanh – Chairman of Hearts For Hue – and Mrs Nguyen Thi Be – Vice Chairman of Phu Gia People’s Committee – along with 50 people in need. All beneficiaries were feeling fulfilled and overjoyed when they received baby chicks. The Covid outbreak has exerted many negative effects on the economic condition of the residents; therefore, this is a good opportunity for them to revive their economic situation.

PARAVETERINARY AND ESTABLISHING CHICKEN CLUB TRAINING

On 19th May 2020, Hearts For Hue in collaboration with Hue Agricultural and Forestry organized training sessions on Paravet and Establishing Chicken Club. The main purpose of this activity is to train 20 selected members of the self- help club to become local vets who will support the other members in chicken raising and related veterinary matters, purchasing new chicks and selling chickens after grant funds end.

Those attending the training including Mr Nguyen Xuan Ba – a former Head of Department of Animal Husbandry, Mr Le Van Nam – a lecture of Department of Animal Husbandry, Mr Truong Trong Khanh – chairman of Hearts for Hue, and Ms Nguyen Thi Be – Vice Chairwoman of Phu Gia People’s Committee along with 20 selected members of chicken club. The members were selected in accordance with these followings standards below:

  • Sufficient capacity to raise chickens and having a qualified chicken coop is required
  • Expect to improve their livestock and voluntary to attend to Chicken club
  • Their houses located in a same area are a must as it communicates or shares with ease.
  • Raising at least 100 chickens currently
  • The participants are willing to take part in community activity and sharing their experiences to the other participants.

The very first training provided an orientation about developing producing towards the club model with these matters:

  • What is a chicken raising club?
  • The main purposes of establishing chicken raising club
  • The role of the chicken raising club
  • The necessary articles to establish chicken raising club
  • Step by step guide to establishing chicken raising club

Hearts For Hue is very happy to see all the selected members are willing to cooperate with each other to establish a chicken raising club. According to the plan, a second training on Paravet and the Establishment of the Chicken Club will be held in early June 2020.
