Between October 25–30, 2025, the city of Hue experienced extreme and prolonged rainfall due to a combination of a strengthened cold front and high-altitude eastern wind disturbances.
- Average rainfall in mountainous areas: 1,000–1,800 mm
- Record-breaking rainfall observed:
- Bach Ma Peak: 4,161 mm
- Khe Tre: 1,956 mm
- Huong Son: 1,848 mm
- 24-hour rainfall peak: 1,739.6 mm at Bach Ma – surpassing the previous national record of 1,085.8 mm/24h.
The torrential rains caused two major floods on the Bo and Huong Rivers, resulting in widespread inundation across 32 communes and wards.
- Average water depth: 1–1.5 meters, with some areas exceeding 2 meters.
- Urban roads and provincial routes were completely paralyzed for several days.
💔 Impact Summary:
- 2 people dead, 6 missing
- 44,507 homes flooded (0.5–2 meters deep)
- 201,000 households without electricity
- Hundreds of hectares of crops destroyed
- Over 5,000 poultry and livestock lost
Thousands of poor families are now struggling to recover their homes, schools, and livelihoods.

💪 Hearts for Hue Emergency Relief and Recovery Plan
We are launching an emergency response to help families in Dan Dien, Huong Tra, Kim Tra, and Quang Dien communes.
Proposed Support:
- 🛍️ Emergency Relief Packages – for 500 families
→ USD 20 / family → USD 10,000 - 🎒 School Supplies for Students – for 500 children
→ USD 10 / student → USD 5,000 - 🏫 Educational Equipment for Kindergartens – for 10 preschools
→ USD 600 / school → USD 6,000 - 🐔 Livelihood Recovery – Poultry Support Program – for 100 families
(each receives 50 chickens + feed)
