First of all, Hearts For Hue would like to send our warmest greetings and best wishes to all of you and express our sincere thanks for your support of disadvantaged people in Vietnam.

We would like to share with you an overview of what our organization was doing from January to March 2019

 Please take a look at our project highlights below:

Conducting a survey of need assessment with regard a Chicken Fundraising Grant

 

On 16th January 2019, Hearts For Hue had the honor to host Mr Do Nguyen- Representative of Rotary Club of Maumee, District 6600, Rotary International, who was visiting our city with the occasion of conducting a survey of need assessment with regard a Chicken Fundraising Grant. This program has been designed to improve the living standards of poor people and people suffering disabilities in Vinh Thai Commune. See more 

 

The effectiveness of Hearts For Hue’s Microfinance Project sponsored by VESAF, NFP

 

Since 2017 and under the sponsorship of VESAF, NFP, and with the collaboration of the People’s Committee of the Communes of Huong Van, Quang Phuoc and Vinh Phu, Hearts For Hue has been implementing a Microfinance Project with the main purpose of creating jobs an generating income for the disadvantaged people.See more

 

 

The VESAF Merit-based Scholarship program

 

On 26th February 2019, Hearts For Hue is very proud to be a partner of VESAF,NFP in collaboration with Hue University organized the VESAF scholarship distribution (stage 1) for 20 underprivileged students who are studying in all the branches of Hue University in the school year 2018 – 2019. For those who participated in the ceremony including Mrs. Do Thi Xuan Dung, PhD – Vice Director of Hue University, Mr. Truong Trong Khanh – Chairman of Hearts For Hue and Representative of VESAF, NFP in Vietnam, along with 20 students of Hue University. A monthly self-help group meeting was being held successfully

 

On February 27, 2019, Hearts For Hue in association with the Vinh Phu Commune People’s Committee organized a monthly self-help meeting within the framework of the project of Improving the living standard for people with disabilities in Vinh Phu commune through chicken raising program which is sponsored by the PiCCA (Australia). The DOVE Fund Trip in Vietnam 2019

 

It has been a great honor for Hearts For Hue to welcome at Hue a delegation of The D.O.V.E. Fund in their annual visit to Vietnam, March 7th and 8th, 2019. The delegation was composed of several enthusiastic members of the organization at the head of whom was its Chairman Mr. Do Nguyen. See more

 

Bamboo March Ms Duong Thi Huong

 

Mrs. Duong Thi Huong (48 years old) is one of the poorest households in the Vinh Thai Community. She is now living with her mom who is 88 years old and her son is at grade 5. As a farmer, she is making an income mainly from planting cassava, raising chickens and making Vietnamese conical hats. Mrs. Huong and her family have been living in the ancestor worship house, and their chicken coop and kitchen made by temporary material which is damaged for a long time. She now keeps working on the farm and raising chickens to support her children’s education. See more
