April: Huong Ho Primary School

After 2 successful volunteer experiences in February and March, the Bamboo Project in association with Hearts For Hue have continued their volunteer program in April, 2016 at Huong Ho Primary School.  All the students in this school are from resettlement areas with low living standards.

From 8 to 11/4/2016, the team of 8 international volunteers with the assistance of Hue volunteers cleaned and painted doors and windows of 10 classrooms and 1 library. It created a innovative, friendly and inspiring learning environment for students to study. In addition, the pupils have had a great opportunity to improve their English, especially listening and speaking skills through English games for kids such as

slap the board, march the words and English songs Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes. These activities assisted children to be confident in speaking English and communicating with native speakers. Moreover, through the volunteer experience, the international volunteers also gained precious experiences and good memories with voluntary work. Besides, they enjoyed their time with lovely children in football match. The program also created good opportunities for Huế Volunteers to practice English skills and exchange culture with foreigners.

On this occasion, Hearts For Hue would like say thank you to the international volunteers, local volunteers and primary school staff who made the program a success.
