Welcome to Hearts For Hue’s July 2018 Newsletter.

First of all, Hearts For Hue would like to send our warmest greetings and best wishes to all of you and express our sincere thanks for your support of disadvantaged people in Vietnam. 

We would like to share with you an overview of what our organization was doing from June  to July 2018

 Please take a look at our project highlights below:

Improving the living quality of people with disability though chicken raising project has started with a training

Under the sponsorship of the PiCCA (Aus),  within the framework of Improving the living quality of people with disability through chicken raising project, Hearts For Hue in collaboration with The Vinh Phu Commune People’s Committee  organized a training session on Introduce the model of chicken raising with worm farming and unprocessed cereals and the important technique of making a chicken coop. Those participating in the training are Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Nguyen Xuan Ba –Head of Department of Animal Husbandry; University of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr Thuat – Vice Chairman of the Vinh Phu People’s Committee, Mr Truong Trong Khanh – Chairman of Hearts For Hue along with  50 families who have people with disability in Hue. Construction of 33 hygienic latrines soon to begin in Hong Thuy Commune, A Luoi District, Thua Thien Hue Province

Sponsored by The DOVE FUND, Hearts for Hue recently cooperated with the People’s Committee of Hong Thuy Commune to survey the needs of hygienic latrines of 33 local households on July 25th 2018.

Hong Thuy Commune has a population of 3,150 people. They are mostly from the Katu ethnic group.In 2017, under sponsored of Dove Fund, 40 households of Hong Thuy commune had a chance to access clean and safe water system for their daily life. However, most of the local people here haven’t had hygienic latrines as their living conditions to generally be very low. See more

 

 

The WeAreBamboo Volunteer Program – Small Action, Big Impact

On 12, 13 and 14th July 2018, Hearts For Hue is very pleased to welcome 17 international volunteers and 2 staff from We Are Bamboo to visit Vinh Thai Community, Hue, Vietnam.  The group of volunteers spent 3 days to build a chicken coop and kitchen for the poor family Ms Ho Thi Sen who has people with mental illness. More women getting involved in the Microfinance Project under the sponsorship of Tuong Lai Project (France)

Hearts for Hue welcomed a group of French students of Tuong Lai Project from ESSEC Business School (France) to cooperate with the Hearts for Hue NGO in the Microfinance Program with the purpose of improving the women’s living uality in Vy Da Ward.

I have had the internship at Hearts for Hue and fortunately, I had a good chance of partly helping French students make the project successful. From the very start of July until the end of the same month, H4H in conjunction with French students, some Vietnamese volunteers and me tried our best to do some activities included in the project. See more
